Local moving guide

Surrey removals for homes, offices and London routes

Guildford, Epsom, Woking, Reigate and Weybridge all bring different access and mileage questions. Some jobs use a clear driveway. Others involve a long carry, rural lane, controlled bay, private estate or strict arrival window. A useful quote starts with those differences.

Choose the service that matches the job. Men With Van covers house removals, man and van moves, office removals, packing support and furniture delivery across Surrey, London and longer UK routes.

The quote should respect the size of the property and the route, not just the postcode. Travel time, access, item volume, storage stops and delivery restrictions all matter. Share the complete plan before booking so the van count, crew and booked time can be checked together.

Local planning

A better Surrey move starts before the van arrives.

Most moving-day problems are not caused by the journey itself. They come from missing details: a lift that was not booked, a stair carry that was not included, a parking bay that was not available, furniture that needed dismantling, or an extra stop that changed the timing. A good quote gathers those details early.

For a Surrey move, the important information is practical: full pickup and delivery addresses, floor levels, lifts, stairs, parking, building rules, item volume, fragile items, packing requirements and whether the route includes storage or extra stops.

Road authority

Who controls the parking for a Surrey move?

Surrey County Council manages on street parking controls and applications for suspensions and waivers. District and borough councils manage off street car parks. A private road, estate, loading yard or building entrance can use separate rules, so both addresses need an exact check.

Quote planning

How a Surrey removals quote becomes clear

1. Start with the route

Pickup, delivery and extra-stop postcodes help calculate mileage, travel time and whether the move is local, surrounding-area or long-distance.

2. Add property access

Driveways, rural lanes, private roads, town-centre parking, longer mileage, M25 timing and Surrey-London route planning can all affect loading time. These details help the crew arrive with the right plan instead of guessing on the day.

3. Size the van and crew properly

A quote can include a full-size 3.5T removal van when suitable. The quote focuses on how many vans, movers and booked hours the job needs, rather than confusing customers with van-size upsells.

4. Include packing and dismantling where needed

Beds, wardrobes, tables, desks and bulky furniture may need dismantling. Packing service can also be added when boxes, wardrobe boxes and protective materials are needed.

5. Confirm securely

Once the total is clear, the customer can choose a move date and arrival time, then confirm through secure online payment. A confirmation email follows when payment is completed.

Moving-day advice

What customers in Surrey should think about before booking

Local access

Check whether each address uses a driveway, public road, controlled bay, district car park, private estate or managed building. Record the carrying distance and arrange any suspension, waiver or building permission before confirming the arrival slot.

Furniture volume

Bedrooms, wardrobes, sofas, boxes, appliances, garage items and office furniture should be listed honestly. The more accurate the item list, the easier it is to choose the right van and mover count.

Route planning

Common routes include London to Surrey, Surrey to London, M25 routes, A3 routes, storage units and UK-wide relocations. Longer routes need realistic travel time, arrival windows and clear delivery access at the other end.

Professional handling

Removal blankets, careful loading order, sensible dismantling and clear room-by-room unloading help protect the job from feeling rushed or improvised.

Surrey parking and access

Check the exact bay, road authority and carrying path before moving day.

Surrey County Council says an on street parking bay can be suspended for removals. Its current suspension and waiver guidance publishes GBP 90 per bay, or per six metre length where spaces are not divided, for an initial period of up to three days. Each additional day is GBP 15. The council normally needs the application at least ten days before the suspension and says only time limited or permit bays can be suspended.

A waiver may allow the named vehicle to wait on a single yellow line or in a parking bay for removals. The current charge is GBP 35 for up to three days and GBP 10 for each additional day. A waiver does not reserve a space. If one specific bay must be kept clear for the removal van, the council says a suspension is required. The vehicle must be moved if requested by a police officer or civil enforcement officer.

Use the council interactive parking restriction maps and read the sign beside the bay. The current permit parking guidance says a vehicle may load or unload in a permit area or bay only for as long as necessary and for no more than 20 minutes. That does not override a loading ban, obstruction rule, private road condition or building restriction.

Surrey County Council says off street car parks are managed by the district or borough council. Surrey County Council permits do not apply in those car parks. Check the exact council rules, vehicle height, vehicle weight, opening time and exit route before using a car park as a loading point.

For a route into London, check the Congestion Charge and ULEZ guide. For the carrying path, use the service lift checklist, furniture access worksheet and loading restriction guide. Official source details and charges were checked on 31 July 2026. Confirm them again before payment because council rules and prices can change.
