One shared item record
Track each protected item from pickup to destination
For a declared fragile, high-value, irreplaceable or awkward item, agree one concise record before lifting begins and check it again whenever custody passes to the next stage.
- Identify. Give the item a short reference, description and destination room or location. Use the booking reference rather than adding unnecessary personal data.
- Record condition. Add a dated condition note and photographs where useful, including visible pre-existing marks, loose parts, cracks or instability.
- Declare the concern. State whether the item is fragile, high-value, irreplaceable or unusually awkward and describe the handling concern without treating the record as an insured valuation or guarantee.
- Agree packing responsibility. Record who will pack it, the agreed materials or method, whether it is closed and ready, and anything that must travel outside the removal load.
- Check maker instructions. For an appliance or other model-specific item, record the exact make and model, current manufacturer transport instructions and any removable, transit or locking parts.
- Protect the route. Record pickup and delivery constraints and the agreed protection for floors, walls, doors, lifts and corners.
- Record load control. The responsible mover records the load position and restraint decision for the actual item, vehicle and complete load.
- Check each handover. Confirm pickup, loaded, unloaded and destination handovers, noting any condition or packing exception before custody passes onward.
